Pancakes Please

Hi everyone,

So last year I did my first attempt at American pancakes which worked out well, so this year will be another trial and taste attempt. I really enjoy pancakes, I love how easy they are to make and I especially love how cheap they are on the pocket. I came across this recipe from Recipe Girl and I had to give it a try - link can be found here --> Cinnamon Roll Pancakes

So this is what it was suppose to look like...

My pancakes looked nothing like this! It looked like vomit on a plate, I didn't even want put a picture up. I think the problem with mine was the sugar; I didn't have Castor sugar for the cinnamon filling so tried to improvise. To be fair they tasted OK, I just got to work on the look.

So I retreated to normal pancakes - Simple but it works

Did you making pancakes? Or will you be trying the recipes above?

Roller Sunday

Hi everyone,

How are you on this beautiful spring day?

Yesterday the weather was grim but I was feeling so perky and upbeat, so I decided to do something new, Roller Disco! I know not exactly ‘new’ but its new to me I never been before and in London most of them have closed down. But with the sudden boom in skates and that tend,  their picking up again. I have a slight confusion I’ve always envied those people who ‘street skate’ they look so cool, they make it look so easy and they effortlessly cruise from pavement to road  in a smooth graceful glade. *Gosh, I’m getting all starry eyed just thinking about it* lol.
Yes, I did drop a lot LOL :D
So anyway Roller Disco was so much fun, this particular had a section cut off for beginners called ‘Boot Camp’ which I went to straight away. I have skated before but its been ages ago (I was about 7 years old) and I borrowed them from a friend) so I thought it best now to take the chance. Naturally there were those freaky super talented kids there doing all this ‘Cris-Cross' legged business and dance moves. Yeah… I’m definitely not on that next but by the end of the day I was a confident basic skater *woo-hoo*.
Hmm.. maybe by summer i could be one of the cool skater  guys
Have you guys ever been? How good are you?

Take Care x

Pancake Face

Hey everyone,

How’s it going? So I took a little break from blogging I thought I’d take some time off work and not tell anyone so I could be alone with my thoughts, and do all the things I normally don’t have time to do.

Yeah that did not work out, I totally forgot it was half term so I had to do my Aunty duties and spend time with the nephews. I’m so tired, that’s the one good thing about being an Aunty – you can give the kids back! LOL! Nah it wasn’t that bad, I did have fun it just took a lot of energy.
we went from this to quite mild so quickly
On top of that between the boys and unpredictable English weather I got sick! *Capital B-OOO!* I was so grumpy, I was getting on my own nerves (if that’s even possible :S). Saying that though something about the snow, just turns me into a kid again I love it , so I probably asking to get sick *serves me right* lol

Anyhoo back to what I enjoy blogging, yesterday was Pancake day *woo hoo!*. As simple as they are to make seriously I can’t do it, but sister can and she loves making them so guess I’m sorted. I’d really like to try those American style pancakes one day, they look yummy, their all thick and stuff, with the syrup ohhh *drools*.

lol this looks so bad :D
So did you guys make any pancakes? And what do you like on them?

Remembrance

Remembrance Day (also known as Poppy Day Or Armistice Day) is a memorial day observed in the Commonwealth countries since the end of World War I to remember and pay respects to the many members of their armed forces who had died in the line of duty. Remembrance Day is observed on 11 November to recall the official end of the World War I on that date in 1918, hostilities officially ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.

The red remembrance poppy has become a tradition of Remembrance Day due to the poem 'In Flanders Fields'. These poppies grew across some of the worst battlefields of Flanders in the war, their red color an appropriate symbol for the blood spilled in the war.

Durdle Door

Hi everyone,

After Grandma’s party everyone was really tired and feeling a bit low, so to make the most of the ‘summer’ weather myself and a few family members decided to go to the beach. But not the usual Brighton, South End etc. Because we all seen it before and to be fair most of my memories the water was brown, there were hard pebbles and it was freaking cold. Although I’m sure they’ve probably given it a nice clean by now but still…so we went to Durdle Door.

Isn't it great, I like this picture because its looks fake :) - its not!

Believe it or not this is the UK O_O

It’s not like a resort or anything so it was quiet and peaceful, there wasn’t shops and attractions it’s just a stunning piece of coast to mediate and relax. The water was beautiful and it was surprisingly warm the younger children puddle and myself and a few of the elder lot decided to tackle the cliff. Once we got up to the top…wow! I know this sounds cheesy but you just feel at peace with the world and really appreciate your life.

I would definitely go back, its took us a while to get there but it is SO worth it. As summer is nearly over I’ll try to find a beach closer to London that is a bit closer so more people can come.

Any recommendations?

Little Black Cloud

Morning everyone,

You ever had one of those day were it feels like a black cloud is following you? I have, in fact have been having them a lot recently. yesterday just happened to be one of them. But I did to keep my composure (most of the time) and get on with what needed to be done. So every time something happen I’d write a word or short sentence as a draft text message. Although I’m not explaining a lot I think you can get a good idea of how my day went.

"Early start. Annoying hair. Dentist! Running late. Wrong weather predictions. Sweaty. Family issues. Stressful work. Period! No time for lunch. Friend got attacked. Forgot to send rejection email. Spilled yogurt down yourself. Left alone. Working late. Walking home. Favorite headphones broken. Late night phone calls. Feeling guilty. Can’t sleep."

So yeah…that was my day!

I hope you all had and are having a good day though. Reading it back its quite funny, but I know yesterday I was SO not laughing.

Flowers

Hey everyone,

Sorry this is a blog about nothing really, I’m just in high spirits. Not that anything out of the ordinary has been going on, I just feel really appreciative and lucky for what I have. Which reminded me of a post one of my friends put on Facebook.

‘The happiest people don’t have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything they have.'

I think this is a  good phase to live by. It all hit me when I was on my way home from work and I come across this flowering tree. I think everyone knows this deep down but to refresh your vision and spirits.

Dead Straight

Hey everyone,

So the weekends over now and I didn't really get to do all the things that I wanted  but it was still a decent weekend none the less. The weather was quite sunny again not hot, but bright. I did end up getting my hair done in the end, the process was fine, my hair took to it well and here were no scars. My only qualm about doing my hair at the hairdressers is that they use those flat iron thingys. the plus side is that make your silky and dead straight, but for me that is a negative because it makes my hair feel and look flat. I quite like it when the hair looks thicker with a slight kink, I know what you thinking, why perm your hair in the first place? I did originally because my natural hair (at the time) was too much for me to handle, definitely not the case anymore (my hair has got a lot thinner), but it was just to daily grooming easier. But I prefer a more kinky more natural looking hair, because I’m black there is no point in me sporting dead straight Indian looking hair if I’m not Indian. It’s ok for now though once I wash it, it will fuzz up a little so it would look more natural. Don't get me wrong there are some days were I want that dead straight looking hair, which will blow in the breeze and what not, but it takes too much effort and I’m too lazy lol.

And just in case you’re interested here is the outfit I was wearing that day.
top - Topshop
vest - Primark (under top)
belt - Primark
jeggings - New Look

Please ignore the mess in the background hehe :)
Hope you guys are having a good week :)
