How to Wrap Your Hair With a Scarf

Hey everyone,

So the summer is here again and is as unpredictable as ever. Today I'm going to show you how I do this cute head wrap with a scarf.
I love this style because it's protective and if your hair is looking particularly rough it's stylish cover up.

I really have a thing for bright colours at the moment so I picked up this African print material from my local street market. It wasn't expensive either just £2 for off cuts, alternatively, you could use the scarves you have available.

First, you will need to wrap the scarf around the back of your head and make a simple tie at the front. At this point, you could roughly jiggle your fringe to your liking.

Do another simple tie the opposite way. The reason for this is I found when you do it the same way your overall tie is a bit one sided.
Depending on how long your scarf is tuck in any remaining pieces. If you have a longer scarf twist the length of the scarf and tuck it in at the back of your head. Touch up your fringe if needed by tucking neatly to the side or go for the side sweep leaving some hair loose.
That's it your done. Accessorise with some cute earrings or sunglasses and you're good to go!

I hope you enjoy the simple style, let me know if you are a fan of hair styling scarves. Let me know if there is anything more you would like to see and be sure to come back for more updates.

Take care x

How to be Happy Being Single in the Summer

Hi everyone,

It's summer and lets face it there are couples everywhere but fear not, being single can actually be pretty awesome. I'm going to share with you some things to avoid to ensure you still have fun.

Before we get started a little disclaimer I am not expert and even after reading and following these rules you are still miserable and bitter - I'm sorry!

1. Couples
I'm not saying avoid all couples, obviously. Some couples are hilarious and positive and bring best out of you. I'm talking about those couples that make you feel like shit, the ones that greet you with sad moon face or talk to you as if you less accomplished in life. No, no, no we don't need that. If they make you feel miserable every time you see them, stop seeing them - done!

2. Exes
It might seem like a good idea at the time, and you might try to convince yourself it wasn't that bad - *sigh* ...Back up! Its like starring in your own version of Groundhog Day, any attempt to continue it is futile. However we're only human, so just remember why it didn't work in the first place.

3. Depressing Single People
If you want to be a dynamic singleton you need to hang out with other sassy singles. Try not to give too much time to those depressing needy people, it could kill your vibe.

4. Internet Dating
The internet may be a fun and amazing way to meet new people, but lets face it - its a little sad too. The fabulous, single, intriguing version of you does not retire from the universe so easily. Don't become a home hermit!

5. Routine
Work, Home, Eat Repeat. Ok so we all fall victim to that pattern but where possible doing different and spend the day with different people. Having variety in your circle of peeps is never going to be a bad thing.

More importantly you should be happy in your own skin and remember to smile
I hope you enjoyed list of tips for singles at summer, if you've had a different experience or have other tips/rules please share in the comments :)

Thanks,

Faye

You Just Made My Day

Hey everyone,

Hope your well and enjoy the sunny weather were having. I was chilling in the park and I got thinking how lucky I am. And how grateful I am to have this slice of happiness in my life.

It doesn't matter what mood I'm in or that I don't spend as much time as I’d like too with him. His there with a wagging tail and plenty of kisses - not in the face though I think that's gross.
It just dawn on me that Kyzer is my best friend and I am just in ore how  much I appreciate every second with him. Over the years from puppy to adult, we had a few health scares and it truly break my heart when his in pain but all worked out in the end - praise God.

The way he would come into the living room, sit down next to me, fart, then leave. I don’t know if you guys have ever had the misfortune of smelling and dog fart. But it is worst thing ever and sometimes I swear the fart smells worst then the poo.

Kyzer is quite a verbal dog and often tries to talk me, I imagine his telling me about his day and how  hot he is because his covered in fur.

His getting older and slowly but surely his developed a cataract in his eyes, so his eyes slight is not so good. He bumps into doors sometimes which I normally chuckle at, because he does it with a smile and his just so happy. Its like a cute old man whose shocked that a door has materialised out of nowhere.

The attitude of a dog is definitely something to be admired, their positivity, enthusiasm, loyalty and love are things that we humans struggle with. I have learnt so might from him and love him so much.
"No matter how little money and how few possessions you own, having a dog makes you rich." - Louis Sabin
I just wanted to share a bit of what's important to me on here, I know not everyone can relate or isn’t a pet owner. But the attachment you build to your pet is truly amazing, maybe you guys feel similar towards your pets? Let me know if you have a pet and can relate.

Have an awesome week guys x.

Cracked Dry and Peeling

Hi everyone,

Can you believe we are in the middle of the year already? The time of year we get foot confident and wear sandals and show off our feet. This is quite a disgusting post so I feel I should warn you I'm going to show a few yucky pictures.
So I'm sure you guys have come across a type of foot mask that promises smooth and baby-like soles after using? I've always thought my feet were in quite good condition in terms of softness but I've always wanted to try. There are various brands out there but the one I decided to use was Exfoliating Foot Mask Papaya & Chamomile Extract - At less then £5 why not?
This product claims It removes all calluses, over time, visibly smoothing your feet within 2 weeks.

Simply apply the mask socks for 60 - 90 minutes and rinse off. If you have things to do around the house my tip would be to cover masks with large socks so they stay on or chill out watching your favourite shows.

For a while I didn't see a difference, but then on the seventh day.

PEELING OFF!

Once you notice the first signs of peeling, soak your feet in warm water for a minimum of 30 minutes to loosen up the dead skin so that it can be rubbed off easily to reveal baby smooth skin!
It is very disgusting i know but let me tell you it was also ultimate pleasure peeling off those dead skin i kid you not. I feel a snake, shedding away.
As tempting as it is you cannot pick the loose dangling pieces of skin on your soles, my tip is to soak your feet in warm water (or take a shower!), and then put lots of moisturising lotion, and give it a gentle rub. All the dead skin will come off without you using force.
Overall I have enjoyed this experience and the results have been better then expected, my feet really do feel beautiful and soft. My only regret is that I did not do it in the cooler months as I'm wasting sunny 'sandal' days and the UK they don't come that often!

Thanks for reading, take care.

If I Could Teleport

Hi everyone,

The days are getting brighter and is slowly warming up... as warm as it get by UK standards anyway. Today I was daydreaming about travel and holidays. I have definitely got the urge to go away to see something new.

So for a small chunk of November (I know ages ago, but I did say I was daydreaming) I was away on holiday to Kenya ~ yay! I was so excited about this trip as it was my first time in Africa and my first holiday abroad without any member of my family. I don't mean that in a bad way of course, I mean in terms of growing up and finding your own independence. Another reason way I was overly excited was because it was my best friends wedding!

But I just wanted to share pictures we you guys, because I really did have a wonderful and Kenya is a beautiful country.

This is Lake Victoria in Kisumu, often hippopotamuses swim in the lake and walk onshore to have a lay down - I know random.
The locals were really friendly, polite and welcoming. They go out of their way to help you and share anything they have. It makes you look at things in a different light, my problems seem to small I comparison yet I was surrounded by big happy smiles. But in a weird way I felt bad taking pictures with them; I didn't want it to seem like I was exploiting them, like they're some kind of sideshow. Because that is not how I feel at all.

After spending some time in Kisumu we moved to Mombasa which is the more coastal side of Kenya.
As pretty as it was there, it soon became clear there was few issues. Parts of it was treated like a dumping ground, it was truly a shame to see.
.
These monkeys may look cute but they will try to steal your food, or in my case bite me! I'm not even joking I was actually bitten by a monkey.
Anyhoo its relax time at Leopard Beach Resort and Spa...book, music, chill ~ ahhhh perfect

Eating dinner watching the moon glisten in the sea. It all feels like dream thinking about it now, but reflecting back on Kenya has just made me more enthusiastic to travel. I have no idea where to go though, I've always wanted to go France and as its only around the corner why not?

If you could teleport to anywhere in the world, where would you travel and why?

Clacton on Sea

Hey everyone,

How your summer been so far? The Olympics are well underway now, which is really cool because its bringing everyone together. For example the other day just to get a glimpse on the Men’s 100m (Mr. Bolt, under 10 seconds!) my cousin and I had to run into some random barbers. Which was only open at that time of night for everyone to watch their television lol. (Totally missed the 200m last night though *sigh*)

But that’s not what this post about. Due to the Olympics its quite difficult to take holiday, which is a bummer because its summer and I want to have fun! Anyways I thought it would to nice to visit the coast with the family, the lucky location was Clacton-on-Sea. I haven’t been there since I was a kid and nothing, nothing has changed, exactly the same as I remembered it. We caught it on a good day it wasn’t really busy so we had plenty on space top make as much noise as we wanted.
As always we totally over packed on food which meant we had to lug some food back. The sun was shining and the light sea breeze was blowing, all was good. Stresses and foolishness washed away in one brown wave, just being in a different setting makes everything feel better. Catching jokes with friends and family and just letting go. We messed around going on the most ‘uncomfortable rides ever’ and getting body art tattoos.

Me making the most of it in fat-ass sunnies haha

Seriously why is the water so brown, complete opposite to water in Dorset (check out my previous post for a look). Didn’t stop me from getting involved though, you know had to dip a toe lol.

Overall it was good finished off amazing fish’n’chips, don’t know why but they always taste better at the seaside *hmmmm*.But yeah this place has nothing on Durdle Door. The town part of it was a bit too sleepy and quiet for my liking – but maybe that’s the Londoner in me freaking out lol

Olympic London

Hey everyone,

So these days in London there are many visitors and things going on, it’s great everyone is in a good mood and just having fun. And all is due to the Olympics!

Although the Olympics didn’t officially start until last Friday in preparation for it London has seen loads of regeneration projects and new builds. One if while being this awesome cable car which runs across the River Thames from Greenwich to the Royal Docks.
Living in London it’s easy to sometimes take things for granted and get caught up in the stresses of everyday living, but sometimes it’s good to just let go and make the most of what is available. I mean seriously look at these pictures, so calm, relaxing and kind of romantic *sigh*…. Whoa sorry I got a bit day-dreamy there LOL – I’m so sad! Haha #foreveralone #alonemuch

Oh yeah, the other day I got to play with the Olympic Touch which was fun. But I have to admit before the Olympics had started I was a bit cynical about the whole thing. But after holding the Touch and have a play around I did feel quite proud.
Sorry about the picture guys, my face was incredibly shinning and I looked a mess, trust me I'm doing you a flavor by covering this up LOL! *When did I become so vain? lol*

Washed up

Hi everyone!

I'M BACK!!! I know it’s been forever, I’m like one step away from having my face on the side of a milk bottle. Please accept my sincerest apologies guys. (For those who don’t want to hear the miserable and depressing back story skip pass the below paragraph). Yeah, I thought it was about time, what do think of the new layout, hope you like it. I had fun making it, so further additions will come soon. *Oh yeah !*(^_ -) d

Well from the last post I did in April quite a lot of sad emotional things have been happening in my life and although blogging makes me happy, I felt I just couldn’t face it. *Don’t worry I’m not trying to bring out the violin or anything lol*. I didn’t want to leave a negative impression on you guys, so taking a break, rebuilding my confidence and healing my pain seemed like the right thing to do. I hope you understand and I hope I haven’t offended or upset anyone, I really didn’t mean to.

********************
Anyhoo enough talking about what has past, time to find my feet and get back on track.

So how’s it going? What have you guys been up too?

Can you believe this is summer? First peeing it down with rain and this week beautiful hot sunshine, *I love it* the sun just makes you want to be outside, getting involved and having fun. I really want to get things going this summer, but i'll keep you all update on what I do and what events are going on. A lot of the time the weather is used as an excuse to stay in, not see your friends or to just be unhappy *I am so guilty of this – big time*, but really the only one missing out is yourself. End of the day time has not stopped, you’ve just missed out on a whole day/week  - stupid! :P

For no reason at all a pic of Kyz :)
These days I’m inspired to get more into photography and really get the most out my pictures. I really want to learn about angles, various camera settings, lighting and editing, so come rain or shine I will improve! I might even take a course *yes another one*, I can’t help it I just have a hunger to learn. – if only Mrs. Marley could hear me now, she’d be so proud :D

Ok I’m totally waffling now, I’ll wrap this post up. But it feels so good to be writing again and thank you to everyone for your love and support.

Take Care

Durdle Door

Hi everyone,

After Grandma’s party everyone was really tired and feeling a bit low, so to make the most of the ‘summer’ weather myself and a few family members decided to go to the beach. But not the usual Brighton, South End etc. Because we all seen it before and to be fair most of my memories the water was brown, there were hard pebbles and it was freaking cold. Although I’m sure they’ve probably given it a nice clean by now but still…so we went to Durdle Door.

Isn't it great, I like this picture because its looks fake :) - its not!

Believe it or not this is the UK O_O

It’s not like a resort or anything so it was quiet and peaceful, there wasn’t shops and attractions it’s just a stunning piece of coast to mediate and relax. The water was beautiful and it was surprisingly warm the younger children puddle and myself and a few of the elder lot decided to tackle the cliff. Once we got up to the top…wow! I know this sounds cheesy but you just feel at peace with the world and really appreciate your life.

I would definitely go back, its took us a while to get there but it is SO worth it. As summer is nearly over I’ll try to find a beach closer to London that is a bit closer so more people can come.

Any recommendations?

Almost a Break

Hi Guys,

Glasgow yay! (^_^)
Guess who is going to Glasgow? ME!! Like this weekend though… I know super short notice but I’m really excited to go. Seriously I don’t go anywhere, I live in the UK but I rarely travel outside London and it is such a shame because there are really are some beautiful places to see *ok so not exactly the sun, sea and sand but it’s still good lol*. But WAIT before I get too excited there is a drawback…I’m working! Yes, it’s true so it’s not really the break I wanted and my lovely friends won’t be there :( but I still get to go to a new place which is cool and be in a hotel and all that jazz so I’m going to try and make the most of it. It’s a 5 hour train journey from London so I’m going be really tired , but I’ll try to take as many pictures as I can.

Do you guys have any plans this summer?
