An Inspirational Quote That Will Grow With You

Hi everyone,

As I have got older I've noticed I worry a great deal more, suddenly I'm not as expressive because I do not want to offend people or be seen in a bad light. I have become more concerned and protective over the people I love. When away from them, I am anxious or overly emotional.

I find myself thinking about my future; finances, housing, my family, my health or my relationships (or lack of). This are things I never really cared about before not because they are not important, but I thought it its was better to focus on the hear and now, and just blindly assume things would fall into place. Which is not a bad attitude to have, but maybe a slightly young attitude to have.

I'm not saying to stress about the raising cost of homes of the UK, the up and down troubles in the NHS, or the horrible attacks on France and around the world; it would drive you crazy if you did. But I think its good to be wise about the future and to a degree sensible.

Its amazing how the small things that can remind you of what's important. Recently someone said something to me and its only until now that it stank in and I can really appreciate the depth and beauty of the words.

"That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them."
Matthew 6:25-26

Amen.

How to be Happy Being Single in the Summer

Hi everyone,

It's summer and lets face it there are couples everywhere but fear not, being single can actually be pretty awesome. I'm going to share with you some things to avoid to ensure you still have fun.

Before we get started a little disclaimer I am not expert and even after reading and following these rules you are still miserable and bitter - I'm sorry!

1. Couples
I'm not saying avoid all couples, obviously. Some couples are hilarious and positive and bring best out of you. I'm talking about those couples that make you feel like shit, the ones that greet you with sad moon face or talk to you as if you less accomplished in life. No, no, no we don't need that. If they make you feel miserable every time you see them, stop seeing them - done!

2. Exes
It might seem like a good idea at the time, and you might try to convince yourself it wasn't that bad - *sigh* ...Back up! Its like starring in your own version of Groundhog Day, any attempt to continue it is futile. However we're only human, so just remember why it didn't work in the first place.

3. Depressing Single People
If you want to be a dynamic singleton you need to hang out with other sassy singles. Try not to give too much time to those depressing needy people, it could kill your vibe.

4. Internet Dating
The internet may be a fun and amazing way to meet new people, but lets face it - its a little sad too. The fabulous, single, intriguing version of you does not retire from the universe so easily. Don't become a home hermit!

5. Routine
Work, Home, Eat Repeat. Ok so we all fall victim to that pattern but where possible doing different and spend the day with different people. Having variety in your circle of peeps is never going to be a bad thing.

More importantly you should be happy in your own skin and remember to smile
I hope you enjoyed list of tips for singles at summer, if you've had a different experience or have other tips/rules please share in the comments :)

Thanks,

Faye

Birthday Wishes

Hi everyone,

I should have post this a month ago but you know me; might take a  while but I get there.

Well there goes another year... dam it gets faster every year. As you know birthday's are a time of celebration and thankfulness (well most of the time it is).
Even though our faces are cut off I quite like this picture
Okay so I have a small confusion to make I did not have a party for my birthday... nobody loves me :-( lol only joking, thinking of one next year ;-)

My birthday was pretty simple it terms of things to do, but it was still special for me. I spent the majority of it with my sister goofing around, eating yummy food and pampering ourselves at a beauty salon. Then meeting up with family in the evening. My sister was quite sweet, although she can a pain sometimes, she went out her way to make me smile :)
Here's a picture with our full faces. Big thanks to her for giving me should a lovey day.
We had a food a at really place called Havet, which is a smart Turkish-Cypriot venue with contemporary styling, serving hot/cold meze and chargrilled fare. For a local place I was pleasantly surprised the food was as good as it was, yet still be a reasonably price.

We went for the King Prawns with spicy rice and Monkfish shish with mixed leaf salad. King Prawns are one of my favourite things to eat, so I knew that was a safe bet. It was delicious, I easy could have eat them all day. But this was my first time trying Monkfish...wow so good. If I was going to go pescetarian this would be definitely be on my shopping list, its meaty, fulling and not too 'fishy'. Also if your easily embarrassed, do not tell them it's your birthday and you have cake, they will play Stevie Wonder, sing and light the candles for you in front of the whole restaurant. I however loved every second of it lol
My most attractive face lol :D

So I welcome my new year. A more grown up me, please please bring me happiness, joy and love, and maybe my future husband pretty please!

Hope you having a good day, take care x

2014 - Battle On

Hey everyone,

Can you believe its the end of the year already? It is no longer 2013!

Before I get into the that; I'd just like to say hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, full of family, friends and joy.

I was planning on doing a few Christmas posts, I even typed them out, but I really didn't feel like it. I was trying to feel Christmasy and get into the spirit of things but it just wasn't happening, it just felt like something was missing. Don't get me wrong getting involved with charities and stuff helped but *sigh*. Of course that is not to say I had a bad Christmas; indeed food was cooked, people gathered and a few gifts were exchanged. Yes, I'm thankful and grateful for everything I have but it all just felt hollow. I think that is why I didn't post those Christmas entries, if I'm not feeling it what is the point - got to honest right? That feeling has also carry through to now, the last day of 2013.

Hmm... kind of depressing I know, are any of you guys feeling this way? Or are you completely the opposite, has this Christmas and New Years been amazingly fantastic for you?

OK so what of 2013? Well, it hasn't been my best year in terms of achievement but on reflection I'd say its been a year of strength. Throughout this year there have been knocks, disappointments and tears but despite all those things putting me down, making me feel worthless and like giving up. I'm here! Thanks be to God.

I feel incredibly secure giving the Lord thanks and praise, I know everything will be alright and there is plan in motion. Sometimes things happen and I find myself asking why? I'm trying my best to do the right things so why is this happening? I try help and support everyone why do they choose to hurt me? But I have to have faith that God is good and wouldn't give me anything that I could not handle, and only has the best intentions for me.

So I look to 2014 standing strong motivated that better is yet to come. The trials and tribulations in 2013 and 2012 are just bruises and scars of a battle that God won. I pray for patience a revived attitude, continue to bless me that I may be a blessing to others.

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7

So with that said I wish you all the best for 2014, may it be full success, victory and a breakthrough, in Jesus name. Amen.

See you in the New Year

Jamaican-me Laugh

Hey everyone,

Ha-ha, though I'd  make a little pun for you :)

What makes a Sunday afternoon a better Sunday afternoon? Answer; go to the park. Even better answer was to go to Brixton Splash or Crystal Palace Jamaica Day last Sunday.

Officially it was Jamaica's 51st Independence day on Tuesday 6th August 2013, but celebrations have been in full swing since last week.

Sadly I couldn't get to both in one day, so I choose to go to Crystal Palace. Crystal Palace Park was an old favourite of mine as a child; its changed a little bit, but still a really cool place to chill and enjoy the day. There was a great sense of pride in the air, everyone made an effort dressed in Jamaican colours, it felt so welcoming.

So what was going on?

There was some amazing live dance performances. So
me of the dancers looked young, but they were so talented. You could tell the performance meant something to them, they looked so happy. I enjoyed watching these two (can't remember their name), I rarely see young people doing dancing like this - so this was a treat.

I'm not going to lie though, there was some parts I found slightly uncomfortable. Number one being the under 13yrs dance competition, what bothered me about it was the dancing itself. I don't think its right for young innocent children to be doing this 'cock up batty', 'jook gal',  'bruk it down' dance moves to a crowd of adults and big ass men. No, no, no not feeling that at all, what kind of messed up impression are we giving here?

Anyway… There where loads of stalls offering delicious Caribbean food, merchandise and arts and crafts. I love Caribbean art, so colourful and calming - its like it takes you to another world. And to top it off Steel pans, I love Steel Pans! I love the way they sound, the atmosphere they create and when I was younger I really used to enjoy playing them too.

Everybody will be eating all the chicken tonight lol
Naturally there was a hell of a lot of chicken, not 100% sure what the obsession is with it, but it really nice. Not dry and chewy, it was tender and well seasoned. Though, I'm more into fish these days but hey-hoo.

It was a really nice day for the whole family, there was even a funfair to keep the children busy. Various DJs for those who fancy a dance or just sit down at your picnic and nod your head. Whenever was 'your thing', there was plenty of room for you to enjoy. It was a happy atmosphere, no trouble just simple fun.

I might not able to afford a ticket to the Caribbean right now but this is a good start.

Hope your well.

Coming Together

Hey everyone,

So last Sunday was the day of my Race of Life - Cancer Research charity race which also happened to be the hottest day of the year. Woo! it was seriously tough, I was sweating bullets and my legs felt like weights. It is amazing how much of  a difference heat can make, I guess it my thought as I only practised at night before hand. When I got to the park I was so overwhelmed by the amount people participating and supporting. It just kind of hit me that all these people be doing anything with their day right now and yet they choose to support, challenge themselves and come to together.
So many people involved -  truly amazing
Really proud of my self and all the ladies who completed Race for Life, there was great energy and everyone supporting and encouraging each other. I finished the race in 32 minutes, which is slightly over my target, but the heat played a huge part - I was really dehydrated. But still very proud and happy with what myself and the rest of the ladies achieved.
Sweaty smiles across the finish line :)
Thank you to all the people who donated to Cancer Research x

Round up the Troops!

Hey everyone,

So it’s coming up to that time of the year were I get a little older, wiser blah blah...it’s also the time were I’m bombarded with questions of what are you doing? Which is really frustrating as these are same people who claim not to have any money to do anything anyway. So what exactly can I do, be on my jack-jones? Don’t get me wrong if you haven’t got it, you haven’t got it – end of. But really, don’t you just hate that, especially when everyone knows when your birthday is. Anyway let me stop ranting like a spoilt child, my birthday hasn't even come yet. Plus it’s not the actual day that’s important it’s the time you spend with the people you care about.
Still that doesn't stop a girl from dreaming right?

So me and the old TM Crew decided to have a catch up over dinner, the other day. It was so good catching up with them, we've have gone our separate ways, but the team remains as strong as before. I'm so lucky to have worked with such amazing and supportive people, its fantastic that were still in touch.
We went to Cote a really yummy French restaurant, I love their fish dishes. I went for the Roast Seabass - Roast seabass fillet, braised fennel and a champagne beurre blanc with chives and tomato concasse with a side of creamy mash. I also had the Prawn Gratinée for starters and the Praline Crepe for dessert - Wow! so nice, would definitely recommend it. Sorry I didn't take a picture of the other dishes they looked too good, couldn't help myself lol.
Maybe I'm just easily pleased lol, I've also been spending a lot of time with my family too which has been really cool but I don't have any pictures as I'm still camera-less :'( - apart from my phone. But I will leave you with a picture me wearing Kasia's glasses, I really want some frames like these their so cute and comfy.

Hope your having good day, take care x

Clacton on Sea

Hey everyone,

How your summer been so far? The Olympics are well underway now, which is really cool because its bringing everyone together. For example the other day just to get a glimpse on the Men’s 100m (Mr. Bolt, under 10 seconds!) my cousin and I had to run into some random barbers. Which was only open at that time of night for everyone to watch their television lol. (Totally missed the 200m last night though *sigh*)

But that’s not what this post about. Due to the Olympics its quite difficult to take holiday, which is a bummer because its summer and I want to have fun! Anyways I thought it would to nice to visit the coast with the family, the lucky location was Clacton-on-Sea. I haven’t been there since I was a kid and nothing, nothing has changed, exactly the same as I remembered it. We caught it on a good day it wasn’t really busy so we had plenty on space top make as much noise as we wanted.
As always we totally over packed on food which meant we had to lug some food back. The sun was shining and the light sea breeze was blowing, all was good. Stresses and foolishness washed away in one brown wave, just being in a different setting makes everything feel better. Catching jokes with friends and family and just letting go. We messed around going on the most ‘uncomfortable rides ever’ and getting body art tattoos.

Me making the most of it in fat-ass sunnies haha

Seriously why is the water so brown, complete opposite to water in Dorset (check out my previous post for a look). Didn’t stop me from getting involved though, you know had to dip a toe lol.

Overall it was good finished off amazing fish’n’chips, don’t know why but they always taste better at the seaside *hmmmm*.But yeah this place has nothing on Durdle Door. The town part of it was a bit too sleepy and quiet for my liking – but maybe that’s the Londoner in me freaking out lol

Washed up

Hi everyone!

I'M BACK!!! I know it’s been forever, I’m like one step away from having my face on the side of a milk bottle. Please accept my sincerest apologies guys. (For those who don’t want to hear the miserable and depressing back story skip pass the below paragraph). Yeah, I thought it was about time, what do think of the new layout, hope you like it. I had fun making it, so further additions will come soon. *Oh yeah !*(^_ -) d

Well from the last post I did in April quite a lot of sad emotional things have been happening in my life and although blogging makes me happy, I felt I just couldn’t face it. *Don’t worry I’m not trying to bring out the violin or anything lol*. I didn’t want to leave a negative impression on you guys, so taking a break, rebuilding my confidence and healing my pain seemed like the right thing to do. I hope you understand and I hope I haven’t offended or upset anyone, I really didn’t mean to.

********************
Anyhoo enough talking about what has past, time to find my feet and get back on track.

So how’s it going? What have you guys been up too?

Can you believe this is summer? First peeing it down with rain and this week beautiful hot sunshine, *I love it* the sun just makes you want to be outside, getting involved and having fun. I really want to get things going this summer, but i'll keep you all update on what I do and what events are going on. A lot of the time the weather is used as an excuse to stay in, not see your friends or to just be unhappy *I am so guilty of this – big time*, but really the only one missing out is yourself. End of the day time has not stopped, you’ve just missed out on a whole day/week  - stupid! :P

For no reason at all a pic of Kyz :)
These days I’m inspired to get more into photography and really get the most out my pictures. I really want to learn about angles, various camera settings, lighting and editing, so come rain or shine I will improve! I might even take a course *yes another one*, I can’t help it I just have a hunger to learn. – if only Mrs. Marley could hear me now, she’d be so proud :D

Ok I’m totally waffling now, I’ll wrap this post up. But it feels so good to be writing again and thank you to everyone for your love and support.

Take Care

Get It Sorted

Hey everyone,

How’s your New Years been so far?

These past few days of 2012 I’ve been feeling a bit poo, my foot is healing up nicely and I can walk fine without too much discomfort as long as I don’t bang it. But seriously, I wanted to slap this old lady on the bus with her annoying shopping trolley, oh the pain! My poor foot! (T_T)

Anyhoo since it is the new year I’m in that reflective mode, you know where you start thinking of how you could become a better person, getting yourself back on track and looking towards the future. I’m quite excited about this year, building new memories with loved one and friends, meeting new people and hopefully *fingers crossed* travelling (even if it is a few days) :3

So ready for 2012!
I never used to bother with resolutions… well I did... but I could never remember them by the time spring came around lol. So this year I’m going to keep it simple with ‘life resolutions’, things that are ongoing even after the year ends.

Patience
This is a big one me, I feel like I can be a bit impatient sometimes and I feel if I were more patient it would pay off. Like they say patience is a virtue.

Draw/Paint more
I’m a creative person and drawing makes me happy, its my release  - why am I not doing this more?!

I always find myself drawing the cliffs,  yet i've never been... weird :S
Pray
I think last year I got a bit disconnected, so this year and for years to come I’d like to have a better relationship with God

So what’s your New Year’s resolution?

King me!

Hi Guys,

Brrr! it’s getting cold!

Remember in my last post I mentioned Amazon were having an amazing sale well look at these bad boys, ' A Game of Thrones: The Story Continues: A Song of Ice and Fire'. I’ve been wanting to read this for a while, I even refused to watch the show (now showing on Sky Atlantic) until I at last read the first book.
The delivery was super fast too :D
Yes I do realize how geeky I must seem lol, but seriously this was a bargain, normally this book set would be £39.99 but no way am I paying that much for a book! this was only £14.49 *yay!* bear in mind that there are five books in the box.
So pretty, so colorful, I'm so happy
Although someone did bring up a valid point 'why don't you just buy a Kindle?'...*kmt!!!*. They are absolutely right it would save space, (because book quickly grow from small pile to stack on the floor), paper and just general luggage in my bag! oh well, this doesn't take away the fact I am happy with what I have. Maybe after Christmas I’ll see what my finances are like and what not.

So how about you, any books, TV series or movies that you would recommended?

Well better rap up this post Kyz is screaming to go for his walk, laters!
